Some tips when reviewing a player's work are:
1. This is the most important of all - NO FLAT/BOXY/PLAIN builds.
2. Castles, houses, and hotels and the like will almost never deserve a rank.
3. It should be at least a considerable size. This doesn't go as much for the builder rank, but more so for the Designer and Architect ranks.
4. SHAPE. Square bases, and flat walls and roofs are the worst thing, unless they are patterned with a neat design.
5. Related to #4. Colours and patterns go a long way.
6. Emptiness is a no go. Interior is just as important as exterior.
7. The area surrounding the build could be designed as well. Say for instance, the player has a restaurant, for this particular building, picnic tables/dinning tables, trees, parking lot, etc. These help the build look better generally.
8. Additives on the exterior of the building. A good example of this is how Celcian does his windows. Another example could be balconies or anything that sticks out of the building.
9. Underground creations, unless absolutely stunning, should NEVER be ranked. This is because it only lets us see the player's interior capabilities, and not how they can build exterior-wise, which we basically need to see.
10. If available, always check with a player of higher or equal rank to confirm your decision. It's always best to have two opinions.
SIDENOTE: Please make sure the building in assessment belongs to the player asking for a review. If the players is at least builder, and the building belongs to another player, the player who is taking credit for the building that is not theirs will most likely receive a demotion in place of a promotion.
This "checklist" should also be reviewed by AlmostBuilders, or any player hoping to receive a promotion.
